Emily Nagle Green
President and CEO
Emily Nagle Green is chartered with continuing Yankee Group's leadership in navigating the global connectivity revolution as the president and CEO. She sits on the Board of Directors for Yankee Group. She is also author of the book ANYWHERE: How Global Connectivity is Revolutionizing the Way We Do Business, which offers an unprecedented road map for how ubiquitous connectivity will impact our lives.
Before joining Yankee Group, Green was CEO of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), the preeminent research and consulting firm in the energy sector, and led its sale in 2004 to IHS Energy. Previously, Green served for nine years in leadership roles with the IT advisory firm Forrester Research, helping the company grow from a privately held boutique to a publicly traded market leader. From 2001 to 2003, she was managing director, Forrester Research North America; she also launched and built the company's European operations from 1998 to 2001.
Green is a communications technology and research veteran, and her tech-sector experience includes a variety of engineering and marketing leadership roles in computer-generated special effects, broadband communications and video services. She is a frequent speaker on the challenges and opportunities in connectivity change. Green is also the vice chairman of the board of MITX, New England's premier trade association for digital technology, marketing and media professionals.
Green holds a B.S.L. degree in linguistics from Georgetown University and an M.S.E. degree in artificial intelligence and computer graphics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jason Shore
Chief Operating Officer
Jason Shore is the chief operating officer of Yankee Group. Shore is responsible for the day-to-day global operations of Yankee Group and oversees the company's financial planning and analysis, information technology infrastructure, human resources, order fulfillment and business processes. Shore works closely with President and CEO Emily Green to set company strategy and ensure operational excellence across the research, sales, events and publishing, client experience and corporate services teams.
Shore joined the organization in 2006 as chief financial officer, with a background in international corporate finance and operations and experience across marketing, sales, supply chain management as well as traditional finance functions.
Prior to Yankee Group, Shore was the co-CEO and CFO of Pharmedica Communications, a medical education company, and led its turnaround and sale in June 2006. Prior to Pharmedica, Shore served as CFO of startup company SBX Management, working to create a stock exchange for small businesses. The bulk of his extensive financial experience has been with various divisions of Unilever, N.V., in the U.S. and Israel.
Shore holds a B.A. degree in history and math from Colgate University and an M.B.A. degree in finance from the University of Michigan.
Eliot Weinman
President, Events and Publishing
Eliot Weinman is the president of Yankee Group's events and publishing division. Weinman is charged with producing groundbreaking global industry events and publications that investigate the challenges and opportunities of the global connectivity revolution. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Yankee Group and is the author of the book Harnessing the Mobile Internet, an executive guide to the world of mobile communications.
Weinman has created more than 150 trade shows and dozens of trade publications and has consulted for many of the world's leading technology companies. Before Yankee Group, he founded and sold four successful integrated media companies, the most recent of which is Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee Group.
In 2003, Weinman co-founded Robotics Trends, where he was instrumental in developing the largest robotics trade shows in North America. Before Robotics Trends, he founded Intermedia Group and Software Productivity Group, now a leading integrated media firm. He also founded Application Development Trends magazine and co-authored landmark software research. Before his entrepreneurial days, he led advanced software groups at MIT's Draper Laboratory.
Weinman holds a B.S. and an M.S. in computer engineering from Boston University, where he was awarded a Research Fellowship in artificial intelligence. He also holds a B.S. in accounting from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
Zeus Kerravala
Distinguished Research Fellow
Zeus Kerravala, distinguished research fellow, leads the Research Council and is chartered with the responsibility of providing thought leadership to the research organization. Comprising senior research leaders, the Research Council provides outreach to clients and the broader Yankee Group community, as well as ensures that the company's research agenda addresses the needs of business leaders. Kerravala drives the strategic thinking of the research organization and helps shape the research direction. Much of Kerravala's expertise involves working with customers to solve their business issues through the deployment of infrastructure technology.
Before Yankee Group, Kerravala was a senior engineer and technical project manager for Greenwich Technology Partners, a leading infrastructure consulting firm. Earlier, he was the vice president of IT for Ferris, Baker Watts, a mid-Atlantic brokerage firm, deploying corporatewide technical solutions to support the firm's business units. Kerravala was also an engineer and technical project manager for Alex. Brown & Sons, where he was responsible for technology related to the equity trading desks.
Kerravala holds a B.S. degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
Wally Swain
Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets
Wally Swain is the senior vice president of Yankee Group's Emerging Markets group. Swain leads the Emerging Markets team, contributing research and consulting deliverables on fixed and wireless telecommunications. His analysis, demand modeling, forecasting and market reports provide Latin American clients with a global perspective on the connectivity revolution. Swain's expertise includes mobile telecommunications operations, M&A, strategic planning and organization design, alliance management and statistics modeling.
Before Yankee Group, Swain joined Focus Ltda. as a partner after ending his term as CEO of COMCEL S.A. Earlier, he was COO of COMCEL. Before joining COMCEL, he worked for more than 20 years in several positions at Bell Canada. Swain's previous work included positions in the office of the president, financial modeling, strategic and corporate planning and gateways.
He is the chairman of the board of the Colombia-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the boards of Electrophone and IQ Outsourcing.
Swain holds an honors undergraduate degree and a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He speaks English and Spanish fluently, and comprehends French and Portuguese.
Shirley Macbeth
Vice President, Marketing and Product Development
As vice president of marketing and product development, Shirley Macbeth leads the company's brand strategy, product portfolio, demand generation activities and corporate communications. Macbeth focuses on elevating the profile of Yankee Group and its Anywhere vision of ubiquitous connectivity through published research, the corporate Web site, collateral materials, public relations and direct marketing.
Before joining Yankee Group, Macbeth was senior director of marketing at Sybase iAnywhere, where she oversaw all product marketing and communications for the company's mobile enterprise software products. Macbeth's responsibilities included driving global lead generation across direct sales and partner channels as well as increasing the company's visibility via international marketing, public relations and events.
Previously, she served as director at Schwartz Communications, a leading high-tech public relations agency, and founded the company's West Coast office. She was also corporate communications manager at Pacific Telesis Group (now AT&T).
Macbeth holds a B.A. degree with honors in English and French from Colby College in Maine.
Andy Morison
Vice President, Global Sales
Andy Morison, Vice President Global Sales, is responsible for all of Yankee Group's global sales initiatives related to research and consulting. Morison previously served as Yankee Group's Vice President of Global Business Development, Consulting and Vice President of New Business Sales in North America.
In total, Morison has more than 24 years' sales experience in the research and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Yankee Group, he held sales director positions at Global Insight, where he led the North American Corporate Sales Team, and at Forrester Research, where he was instrumental in launching three new products. Before that, he spent 15 years in the telecommunications industry, managing sales teams and establishing sales and marketing plans for Net2000 Communications and holding several positions, including District Manager of Key Accounts, at MCI Communications.
Morison holds a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Richmond.
