What is Yankee Group's survey methodology?
We conduct our online survey research with many specialized databases and normalized, representative panels, from which we can draw hundreds of thousands of research participants. Telephone interviewing is used when a survey requires an alternative methodology (phone interviews are more appropriate for certain countries and types of respondents). Other methodologies (e.g., focus groups, mail surveys) for custom studies are available upon client request.

For any methodology, checks are in place to ensure quality control through auditing and online testing and reporting. Surveys are carefully managed and monitored throughout the entire survey lifecycle to ensure high quality of survey design, execution and data results. The Yankee Group survey team and lead analysts meticulously test survey programming before fielding. In addition, observation of real-time data collection allows examination of early and late responders and comparison of captured data to the sample population.

Once collected, the data is rigorously reviewed by the Yankee Group survey team and analysts. The review includes analysis of missing data and outlying data values, transformation of variables and weighting of data files to adjust for differences between the distribution of characteristics in the sample and the population. Yankee Group analysts thoroughly examine survey data for accuracy of figures and perform extensive analyses to qualify the data.
