Marketing Manager
Boston, MA

Position Overview:
The goal of the Marketing Manager is to help the Yankee Group events and publishing marketing team execute successful attendee marketing plans, increase registration and attendance at events and achieve our financial targets

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and executing marketing plans for YG Events and Publishing division products
  • Fulfill marketing agreements with media and association partners to drive event attendance and maintain cooperative relationship. Work with partner to schedule and run print ads, banner ads, email blasts, newsletter insertions, website listings, etc. and in exchange track and fulfill partner benefits. Track performance of all marketing agreements and make recommendations to improve partner marketing strategy
  • Coordinate online, print, and direct mail marketing campaigns and strategy such as SEO, Google AdWords, Facebook, blogging, RSS feeds, online ads, banner ads, etc.
  • Work with creative and web team to develop marketing collateral including print ads, html emails and web banners that reflect brand positioning and drive event attendance. This includes writing and submitting copy, providing design guidelines/instructions, proofreading and giving final approval
  • Manage and update marketing schedules and budgets. Track cost, performance and ROI of email blasts, banner ads, direct mail, etc. and make recommendations to improve performance
  • Other responsibilities as necessary including sourcing vendors for printing and promotional items, managing large projects such as event Program Guides, and providing customer service to prospective customers
  • Evaluate potential marketing partners and proposals based on an understanding of the Telecommunications and IT industry and analysis of past partners’ performance. Take a lead role in negotiating media/association/analyst sponsorship trade agreements
  • Schedule print ads, email blasts and newsletter insertions within pre-established parameters
  • Write and proofread marketing collateral
  • Solicit feedback from internal events team and adjust project goals accordingly

Qualifications:

  • B.S.
  • 3-5 years experience in marketing, developing, executing and managing marketing projects
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • Interest in technology, events and the mobile internet
  • HTML and design skills
